Johanna Swanton and Cornelius McCarty

Johanna (Anna) Swanton was the daughter of James Swanton and Catherine Carty (McCarthy. Johanna was baptized on January 22, 1850 in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Enniskeane. Her baptismal sponsors were Con Crowley and Ellen Collins.

On February 23, 1841, she married Cornelius McCarty in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Enniskeane. They emigrated to Boston, where Cornelius became a natnaturalized citizen of the United States on October 18, 1978.

Cornelius and Johanna Swanton McCarthy had a daughter, Ellen, who was born in Boston in 1877. Ellen married Patrick Colleran, a horse and buggy driver for Pickwick Ale in Boston.

Patrick and Ellen McCarthy Colleran had twelve children:

  8. Annie
  9. Madeline
  10. Bridget
  11. Patrick
  12. Edward
  13. Cornelius

Three of these children, Marion, Margaret and Mildred were still alive as of 2001.
